Since the launch of the highly anticipated Chevy Volt and Nissan Leaf, the world of electric cars has gone a little quiet recently.
But all of that is about to change as the world gears up to meet the Tesla Model S, which is being billed as the “world’s first premium electric sedan”.

The all new Tesla Model S
The electric car costs $49,000 and is a bargain price in comparison to the Tesla Roadster at $109,000. Tesla have been teasing us for months with snippets of information about their new electric car with various images and videos being constantly released and we are now ready to meet the Tesla Model S this coming Friday.
The video above shows the Tesla Model S being made in the factory and it allows us to see the production process of the all-new electric vehicle.

Inside the Tesla Model S
Firstly the electric car gets stamped, then we see the center of the body being made by a group of robots that happily weld and rivet their days away.
Next the painting process begins and finally, we see the assembly center that boasts high definition 3D cameras that put the panoramic roof into position as well as the center console, the batteries, the drivetrain and the seats.

The production line at Tesla
Various components are then added to the exterior. The electric car is then sprayed with water by 360 nozzles that test the car for water tightness. The Tesla Model S isn’t being welcomed by everyone in the industry but one thing that most people agree on that the electric car will likely make or break Tesla.

The Tesla Model S in action
We all hope that Tesla succeeds in what they are trying to achieve by offering a large electric vehicle instead of a more common compact electric car. The electric car world could use a little excitement and this could be it!
